It’s Monday! What are you Reading? is a meme hosted by Kathryn at Book Date. It is a great way to recap what you read and/or reviewed the previous week and to plan out your reading and reviews for the upcoming week. It’s also a great chance to see what others are reading right now…you just might discover your next “must-read” book! Kellee Moye, of Unleashing Readers, and Jen Vincent of Teach Mentor Texts are the smart folks behind giving It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? a kidlit focus! Join me!
Listening to: Finished listening to Hurricane Child by Callender. Beautiful! Now listening to The Night Diary by Hiranandani. Equally as beautiful…I hope you know that there is so much to learn from reading children’s books. I am learning a lot from this one. I wish I had paid more attention in my Social Studies/History classes in school. Either there is a lot we were not taught (truth is…there is a lot we are not taught) or I wasn’t paying attention. I am paying attention now.
On my nightstand: Finished They Called Us Enemy by Takei. Another one for learning about history and not feeling too terribly proud of the past. Just started The Miracle & Tragedy of the Dionne Quintuplets by Miller. This story is totally new to me – cannot wait to read more. Only a few pages in and I’m enthralled.
Reading with the preschooler: More Dog Man by Pilkey! Why do I feel like there are a million of these books in this series?! We also got in a few picture books throughout the week, so we had some breaks!
